Business development manager

Location: Longburn, Manawatu-Wanganui

Now hiring in Manawatu - Business Development Manager

On behalf of our well respected client we are seeking a sales hunter/farmer to develop new business and manage existing clients across the Lower North, Taranaki and Hawkes Bay regions selling directly to manufacturers, suppliers and other similar businesses.
The ideal candidate will be able to lead initiatives to generate and engage with business partners to build new business for the company. The successful candidate will be focused and have strong communication skills and ideally have business to business sales experience.

Responsibilities
Identify partnership opportunities
Develop new relationships in an effort to grow business and help company expand
Maintain existing business
Think critically when planning to assure project success

Qualifications
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proven knowledge and execution of successful development strategies
Focused and goal-oriented
Previous sales experience in B2B sales
A background in the timber industry would be advantageous but not essential

Our client is looking for a strong sales person who is able to bring on new business as well as manage existing clients and has no fears of knocking on doors to get the job done. This is an exciting opportunity to grow with this national company. On offer base salary $60k + commission + company car, laptop and phone - OTE $100K +. You will spend one day a week in my clients Palmerston North based office for planning, reporting etc but the other four days a work you will work remotely as you will be visiting your territory.
